The Virtual Atomic and Molecular Data Centre1 consortium, is a European project which has built an interoperable e-infrastructure for the exchange of atomic and molecular data. The standards developed within this project include an XML-based format, XSAMS, for the transmission of such data and a query language, VSS2, based on SQL. A portal website, allowing several databases to be searched simultaneously, has been developed by the VAMDC.

I have developed a relational database model for the popular HITRAN database, and an online interface to it, HITRANonline2.
